Tuition sessions are charged at a minimum of one hour. Hourly rates are for one learner and include all preparation and feedback for that session. Additional homework support, marking, etc. can be provided upon request at the basic hourly rate.
Q: What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
A: I require at least twenty-four hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a tuition session without charge. Sessions cancelled with less than twenty-four hours' notice may be charged at the full rate. Please see our Terms & Conditions for more information.
Q: Do you offer discounts for pairs or groups?
A: Yes! I am very happy to discuss pair and small-group tuition arrangements at a 10% discount per learner. Please get in touch if you'd like to find out more about this.
Q: Is there a discount for block bookings/payment in advance?
A: Yes. I'm pleased to offer a 10% discount on the advertised hourly rate for payment in advance and commitments to a minimum of one academic term. Please get in touch to discuss this.
Q: How do online lessons work?
A: Lessons are conducted via secure Google Meet links. We use shared digital resources so that we can read, annotate, and write together in real time. All teaching materials remain accessible to the student after the session.
Q: How does payment work?
A: Invoices are sent by email and can be paid by direct bank transfer (BACS). Payment arrangements vary depending on the type, frequency, and duration of tuition but will always be made clear in our Client Agreement before tuition commences.
Q: Do you offer trial sessions or initial consultations?
A: I offer a complimentary thirty-minute initial consultation to discuss academic goals, assess needs, and ensure that I am a good fit for your requirements before you pay for further sessions.
Q: Will we need any special equipment or software?
A: No. All you need is a computer or tablet with a stable internet connection, a working webcam, a microphone, and a web browser.
Q: Can parents sit in on sessions?
A: Absolutely! Where the student is under eighteen, parents and guardians are always welcome to observe tuition sessions.
Q: Do you offer tuition in subjects other than English?
A: No. Ceridwen English Tuition is a specialist provider of expert English tuition. However, I am very happy to help you in your search for tuition in other subjects. Please get in touch, and I'll do what I can to assist.
